Dear Valued Customer,

 

We are providing the following information regarding upcoming holiday closures, schedule changes, and reminders for rate adjustments:

 

Labor Day Terminal Closures:
All DHX-Dependable Hawaiian Express terminals will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of Labor Day.

 

Labor Day Holiday Port Schedule and Gate Hours

All Ocean Carrier terminals will be closed on the U.S. Mainland and in Hawaii and Guam on Monday, September 7, 2026.

 

DHX–Dependable Hawaiian Express Labor Day Holiday Cut-Offs

 

     Out of Southern California – The cutoff for Hawaii non-hazardous freight to sail Wednesday, September 9, will be Tuesday, September 8, by 5:00 pm PST. We will not be sailing hazardous freight for Hawaii on Wednesday, September 9. The hazardous freight received on Friday, September 4, and Tuesday, September 8, by 5:00 pm PST will sail on Saturday, September 12. The cutoff for Guam non-hazardous freight will be Friday, September 4, by 5:00 pm PST, and the cutoff for Guam hazardous freight will be Thursday, September 3, by 5:00 pm PST for sail Wednesday, September 9.

 

     Out of Northern California – The cutoff for Oahu for hazardous and non-hazardous cargo will be Thursday, September 3, by 3:00 pm PST for sail Tuesday, September 8. There will be no Guam sailing on Tuesday, September 8.

 

     Out of Seattle – There will be no disruption to our regular cutoff schedule.

 

As a reminder –

 

Young Brothers WICI Adjustment

Young Brothers has received approval for a 3% Water Carrier Inflationary Cost Index (WICI) adjustment, which will take effect on July 1, 2026. Young Brothers inter-island rates will be adjusted by the same amount.


Fuel Related Increase – Hawaii Operations
Effective Monday, June 1, 2026, the following temporary rate adjustments will apply:
  - Honolulu, Maui, and Kona: A temporary 4% increase will apply to on-island delivery rates.
  - Hilo: HITCO, will implement a permanent 5% increase on delivery rates and accessorial charges.

Annual State of Hawaii Wharfage and Port Security Fee Increases
​The State of Hawaii Department of Transportation ​will implement a 3% increase effective Wednesday, July 1, 2026,​ resulting in the following changes​:
  - Full Container Load (FCL): State fee increases will be passed through.
  - Less-than-Container Load (LCL): Wharfage fees will increase by $0.01 per cubic foot.
  - Port Facility Security Fee​ (LCL): DHX will continue to absorb this increase for LCL shipments.
