We have been informed by HITCO Moving & Storage that they will be closed on  Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day. Our Hilo delivery services will resume on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

HITCO, our delivery agent in Hilo, Hawaii, helps support our seamless coverage across the East side of the Big Island.

Fuel Related Increase – Hawaii Operations

As a reminder, due to recent market developments impacting fuel costs and the Hawaii Transportation Association’s (HTA) receiving approval from the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) for rate adjustments under the Zone of Reasonableness program, we are announcing upcoming changes to our delivery rates.

Effective Monday, June 1st, a temporary 4% increase will apply to DHX on-island delivery rates and related accessorial charges in Honolulu, Maui, and Kona. While the PUC approved an increase of up to 10%, we have limited this adjustment to 4% to minimize the impact on our customers. This is intended as a temporary, stabilizing measure rather than a permanent rate hike.

Additionally, effective Monday, June 1st, our Hilo delivery agent, Hitco, will implement a permanent 5% increase on delivery rates and related accessorial charges.

We will continue to monitor market conditions and adjust the temporary 4% increase as trends evolve.

Fuel Related Surcharge Increase  – Hawaii / Guam / Micronesia

As a reminder, as a result of recent market developments affecting the cost of oil, the ocean carriers have announced a revision to the previously released increase to their Fuel Related Surcharge (FRSC), effective April 12, 2026. The following is a summary of the announcement details.

Since the onset of conflict on February 28, 2026, and subsequent attacks on Middle East energy infrastructure beginning March 18, 2026, fuel prices have experienced significant volatility. Conventional fuel costs have diverged from historical benchmarks and are now aligning with the "OPEC Basket" price, which has increased by approximately 90% since late February.

Due to these extraordinary circumstances, the ocean carriers are further adjusting the FRSC and deviating from the standard 30-day notice period for Hawaii and Guam/CNMI. The updated rates are as follows:

- Effective April 12, 2026: 28.0% for Hawaii and 29.0% for Guam/CNMI

- Effective April 26, 2026: 31.0% for Micronesia

They will continue to monitor these trends and adjust surcharges as market conditions evolve.
