Dear Valued Customer,

 

Please find below our monthly update, including reminders on the Fuel-Related Surcharge Increase for Hawaii/Guam/Micronesia, our Guam/Micronesia rates, and our new Airfreight office address. Mahalo!

 

Since the onset of conflict on February 28, 2026, and subsequent attacks on Middle East energy infrastructure beginning March 18, 2026, fuel prices have experienced significant volatility. Conventional fuel costs have diverged from historical benchmarks and are now aligning with the "OPEC Basket" price, which has increased by approximately 90% since late February.

 

Due to these extraordinary circumstances, the ocean carriers are further adjusting the FRSC and deviating from the standard 30-day notice period for Hawaii and Guam/CNMI. The updated rates are as follows:

 

- Effective April 12, 2026: 28.0% for Hawaii and 29.0% for Guam/CNMI

- Effective April 26, 2026: 31.0% for Micronesia

 

They will continue to monitor these trends and adjust surcharges as market conditions evolve.

Airfreight Office Relocation

As a reminder, we have moved our Airfreight operations to Torrance, California. As of February 2, 2026, we have been operating at our new facility.

 

Please update your records to reflect our new location, effective on February 2, 2026. All freight, courier deliveries, and general correspondence should be sent to the new address.

As a reminder, effective February 1, 2026, Matson has increased its Guam, CNMI, and Micronesia tariffs by $100 per Westbound container and $100 per Eastbound container.

 

The following adjusted rates and surcharges will also be effective on the same date:

 

- West Coast Terminal Charge:

- Increases by $150 to $1,590 per Westbound container to Guam and Micronesia

- Increases by $90 to $1,270 per Eastbound Guam container

- Increases by $150 to $1,590 per Eastbound Micronesia container

 

- W/M rate will increase by $4 per weight or measurement ton.

- POV rate will increase by $100 per vehicle.

- Hazardous Ocean Surcharge will increase by $50 to $475.

 

Please note that the Guam Terminal Charge remains unchanged at this time.

 

These adjustments will be carried forward to our rates for Full Container Loads (FCL) to Guam, CNMI, and Micronesia. For Less-than-Container Load (LCL) cargo, our customer rates will be raised based on commodity, density, and current costs.

 

These changes apply to shipments sailing on or after February 1, 2026. Please contact your Account Executive to review the specific adjustments to your current rate levels.
