Dear Valued Customer:

We at DHX-Dependable Hawaiian Express would like to inform you that we have been advised that the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach will begin collecting a new Clean Truck Fund (CTF) Rate on April 1, 2022, to help the ports achieve zero-emissions drayage trucking by 2035. These two ports will collect $10 per TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) and $20 per container longer than 20 feet on loaded import, export, domestic and international containers hauled by drayage trucks as they enter or leave container terminals and rail cargo moving to or off nearby rail ramps via truck.

Although we traditionally provide our customers with a minimum of 30 days' notice on fee changes, the timing of this announcement and subsequent implementation does not afford as such. As a result of this charge, we will pass along the cost in a Clean Truck Fund Rate of $0.02 per cubic foot for LCL shipments and $20 for a 40/45-foot FCL shipment effective April 1st.
