DHX - Breaking Alert

7/22/2021

Dear Valued Customer,

On July 14th, one of the Alaskan ocean carriers experienced mechanical issues preventing their vessel’s departure. We quickly adjusted our routing to utilize the other available Alaskan ocean carrier, attempting to avoid any delayed shipments. However, the mechanical breakdown impacted the normal cargo cycle for departure, causing vessels for the voyages departing on July 16th  and the 21st to be overbooked. This resulted in loads throughout the Alaskan ocean carriage trade being rolled to a later departure.

Coupled with the nationwide container shortage impacting another Alaskan ocean carrier, we’ve seen uncontrollable delays in departures and transit times for the consumers throughout Alaska.

The team at DHX-Dependable Hawaiian Express is working diligently with our carriers and contractors to make adjustments as the situations develop. Our goal is to limit the impact on your business. However, please be prepared for delays in departure and transit times. If you’ve been directly affected by these industry challenges, we’ll be making contact in the coming hours and days to update you with the status of your shipment(s).

Should you have additional questions, please contact your local office or our Corporate Customer Service center at 800-488-4888, Ext. 2020, or email us at Alaska@dhx.com.

Thank you for your continued business - we appreciate it!
