Dear Valued Customer:

We have been informed by Matson Navigation Company (“Matson”) the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation, Harbors Division has taken an increase in wharfage fees on July 1 over the past several years to support important development work under its Harbors Modernization Program designed to expand harbor capacity, accommodate advancements in containerized cargo handling, alleviate congestion and shortage of available operational space, and develop more adaptable and resilient port facilities.

As part of its financing plan for this program, the State has been phasing in wharfage fee increases over the last several years. The next wharfage fee increase is planned to take effect on July 1, 2020 and will be approximately 3%.

In anticipation of this increase, Matson will increase Hawaii Wharfage and Port Security charges effective for sailings on and after Sunday, July 19, 2020 in accordance with the State’s increase.

DHX – Dependable Hawaiian Express will announce the further breakdown of charges as soon as they are available.
