Hawaii, Guam, and Micronesia Ocean Fuel Surcharge Increase
Matson Navigation Company ("Matson") raised
their fuel surcharge by 1.5 percentage points, from 16.5% to 18% for their
Hawaii service, effective with sailings on or after July 10, 2016. Matson also
raised their fuel surcharge for Guam/CNMI and Micronesia services by 1.5
percentage points. Guam was increased from 17% to 18.5% and Micronesia from 22%
to 23.5%, effective July 10, 2016. As a result, we also increased our fuel
surcharge by like amounts, passing through the surcharge to you based on your
ocean rates.
In doing so, we are able to maintain our service levels as
well as the financial stability you would expect and want from your service
provider. We will continue to closely monitor the ocean carrier announcements
and will adjust the fuel surcharge as it changes.
Thank you for your understanding and support in this
matter.
