Breaking Alert
8/28/2018
Dear
Valued Customer:
The Australian Department of Agriculture and Water
Resources (DAWR) has issued new measures to protect Australian territory from
infestation of BMSB.
Breakbulk, Full Container Load (FCL) and Freight of
All Kinds (FAK) containers from high risk countries, including the USA, containing high
risk and target risk commodities are required to be fumigated. FAK containers containing
at risk cargo are to be treated at the container level.
With the aim of maintaining transit time integrity
and minimizing financial impact, DGX will treat all cargo sailing from the USA to Australia
at a DAWR approved treatment facility in Los Angeles.
Please visit http://www.agriculture.gov.au/import/before/pests/brown-marmorated-stink-bugs for detailed information on the new regulations for
the 2018-2019 season.
The charges for fumigation services for shipments
in FAK containers are:
USD $37.50 w/m, Minimum $250.00
USD $10.00 Fumigation Admin Fee
Please contact your local DGX office should you
have any questions.
