Fuel Surcharge Increase – Hawaii, Guam, and CNMI

On May 4, 2018, Matson Navigation Company (“Matson”) announced that due to a steady increase in fuel-related costs their ocean fuel surcharge will increase by 2.5 percentage points as shown below, all effective with sailings on or after Sunday, June 3, 2018.

Hawaii - will increase from 30% to 32.5%

Guam- will increase from 30.5% to 33%

CNMI- will increase from 35.5% to 38%


As a result of this increase in our underlying costs, we will change our fuel surcharges billed to you to reflect the above percentages, effective with sailings on or after Sunday, June 3, 2018.

 

We appreciate your understanding with regards to these changes.

 

Volcano Activity on the Big Island


We would like to extend our thoughts and hopes for the people and the communities that are being affected by the volcanic activity on the Big Island. As of this writing, there is a possibility that there will be a major eruption.  We are concerned for the safety of those who we share our community with on the Big Island.  Our hopes are for there to be minimal future property damage and that the destruction remains limited to the areas already affected. Our prayers are for everyone to be safe and sound as this horrific event unfolds.
