Traffic Mitigation Fee
The West
Coast Marine Terminal Operator Agreement (WCMTOA) announced an increase of 2.3
percent in the Traffic Mitigation Fee (TMF) at the Ports
of Los Angeles and Long Beach, scheduled to take effect on August 1, 2017.
The TMF will increase from $69.17 to $72.09 per TEU
(twenty-foot equivalent unit) or $138.34 to $144.18 per forty-foot container.
The increase will sustain continued operation of PierPass OffPeak
gates amid labor cost increases.

non-for-profit company created by Marine Terminal Operators (MTO’s) at the Port
of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach to address multi-terminal issues such as
congestion, air quality and security. The WCMTOA is filed with the Federal
Maritime Commission, and is comprised of the 13 international MTO’s serving in
