Dear Valued Customer:
Matson Navigation Company (Matson) announced that on April 27, 2017, the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) approved Port of Guam’s request for increases in tariffs, rates, and fees over a five-year period. The PUC approved increases of 7% in years one and two, and a 1% for years three through five. Year one increases are to become effective on June 1, 2017.

Pursuant to Port of Guam’s first increase and in keeping with Matson’s longstanding practice of giving customers 30 days’ notice before rate increases, we will increase our rates for Guam and CNMI shipments June 26, 2017.

Because of this increase in our underlying costs, we are changing the terminal handling charged to you to reflect this adjustment. THC will increase by $0.03 per cubic foot effective with sailings on or after June 26, 2017. By doing this, we are able to maintain our service levels as well as the financial stability you would expect and want from your service provider. We apologize for any inconvenience this change will cause you.
