Shipping
Wooden Package Materials to Brazil
The
new Brazilian law MAPA IN 32 will now require the mandatory submission of the
following “packaging details” when booking any shipment being imported to
Brazil to notify customs of wooden package material usage in your cargo. This
new requirement will become effective for all Bill of Ladings processed
starting February, 2016, and applicable to all shipments being imported to
Brazil. The new law requires the following information to be provided in your
Shipping Instructions:
• Wooden Package: Not applicable (Not
used)
• Wooden Package used: Processed
• Wooden Package used: Treated /
Certified
• Wooden Package used: Not Treated / Not
Certified
Please
note that the shipper is the responsible party to provide this information to
DGX. If your Shipping Instructions do not contain this information, the
shipment will not be processed and could be delayed as a result.
